Delayed Freebie Friday...And the Blush Mystery Beauty Box

Freebies last week were pretty meh. But beggars can't be choosers :)

This was a bonus Klout.com and Ricola perk that was randomly sent. I love that they are doing this during cold and flu season, because cough drops are always appreciated. Plus, it came with a travel tin. I mentioned it in my last Freebie Friday post, but here it is again- there is NO REASON to not sign into Klout.com. You do not have to do anything. The literally just look at your social media accounts and what kind of things you write about...then they send you free things that have no strings attached.

The 'packet' samples that I received were all over the board. A Cantu hair cream, packet of Folger's vanilla biscotti coffee, and two types of Emergen-C packets. The only thing I have tried out of this batch is the Immune + from Emergen-C. This may be their best flavor and their products always help me out when I feel like I may be getting sick.

Now, for the Blush Mystery Beauty Box.

This box is $25 a month plus tax. They guarantee full size and deluxe sample products. I am almost to my year mark with this box, and honestly may cancel soon. Even though it is advertised to be a mix of hair, skin, and makeup....it is mostly lip and skin products. I have a bag of skin creams and soaps in my bathroom that I haven't even touched yet. It also seems that as they have gotten more popular- the quality and care has gone down. My past three boxes have all had an issue- missing items, dried out items, and a hair spray that an employee used the spray top to poke a hole through the seal before mailing (unfortunately, they didn't screw it on all of the way and I ended up with a sticky mess that made me have to toss most items). On the plus side, this box has consistently had a worth of over $100 (though one box had most of the worth via one item, so it was a small box). Blush also includes 2 bonus packet type samples with each order.

This month included:

*LeEdge Exfoliator. Honestly, I thought that this was a quack item. However, it works very well. I use it on my feet in the shower and was disgusted at how much ick came off.

* Klorane Hair Mask with Desert Date. I have not tried this yet, but usually the hair masks that they send are phenomenal.

*Harmonized Digestive Water. Yes, you read that correctly. It is literally water that has had sound waves pass through it. It says that if you add a few drops to a drink daily it will help digestion and other issues. Unless the chemical makeup of water is changed- I hope no one actually spends money on this.

*Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper. This is meh. The actual lipstick part feels cheap and is coarse due to the shimmer in it. As for the plumping action- that works due to the cinnamon in it. If you are not a cinnamon fan- do not pick this up. Actually, I would only recommend this product if they released it as a balm.

*GoldFaden MD WakeUp Call Eye Cream. I have not tried this. I have literally 6 other eye creams to use before this.

*Glytone Hydrate Eyecream. Blush loves to give away this brand, and honestly I do like everything I have tried from them- which means I will probably like this too. However, it is down at the bottom of my eye cream list because of how many I have gotten from blush.

My packet samples this month were two Cetaphil products, a cleaners and moisturizer for sensitive skin. I will be handing this on.

So, there you go. Blush is a wonderful box because you get your monies worth....but it gets old quickly. I will be holding out until April as that will show me if they do anything for their anniversary, my anniversary with them, or if they do anything for birthdays.
